About Me

Who I am?

Always an interesting question to answer.

The basics: I'm a woman. I am 29 years old. I a wife, a sister and a daughter. I have my bachelors degree in social work and worked for over three years as a social worker in a nursing home before my husband joined the Army and we moved across country.

My husband and I don't have any children (yet), but we do have plenty of four-legged loves in our lives. El Duce Bacchus the Muttley is our snore-master Pug; Atira the Dirt Princess is our Chesapeake Bay Retriever mix we adopted from our local humane society before we left North Carolina; Sally the male cat is kin to my husbands best friend/brother's cats and since we adopted a little female kitten named Jack, Sally has become a huge grump star! But they are our babies and we wouldn't trade any of them!

I LOVE to cook. I love reading food blogs and browsing through recipes online and in cookbooks. I have a whole favorites folder on my computer devoted to the jewels of recipes I find that I can't wait to make (or use as the foundation to make something up). I'd like to imagine that I can bake, and I'm not half bad at it, but the only time that I really bake is when I'm upset. (So if you see any baking recipes on here, beware!) I read a quote in a magazine once that completely captured my attention: "A good cook is like a sorceress who dispenses happiness." Food makes me happy and I love to cook for family and friends!

Aside from my wifely duties, I also enjoy reading. I have a huge stack of books waiting for me to get through. It seems like every time I go to the thrift store I find another one! But I've also been trying to get back into my crafty side as well and lord only knows Pinterest is not helping that!

Really, its just day to day adventures and finding out what's next in life!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy it!
